About our festival
We are an annual "shorts only" Independent film festival held in Calcasieu Parish, in the city of Sulphur, Louisiana.
Our festival is for short films (3-30 minutes) & short scripts (3-30 pages).
We were started in 2018 by the nonprofit organization Louisiana Film & Video Art. The festival was started as a "shorts only" spinoff of the Lake Charles Film Festival (lakecharlesfilmfestival.com)

Our top trophy, awarded to 1st Place Short Films and Scripts, is called a "Scallywag."
We also award 2nd & 3rd place trophies in each category and all the winners also get certificates and winning laurels.

The name of the Louisiana Parish, Calcasieu, means "crying eagle" and is said to be the name of an Atakapa Native American leader.
